KLM to restart flights to Hangzhou

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will resume flights to Hangzhou starting August 27.

For now, the airline will fly one passenger flight per week, which will be operated via Seoul Incheon (South Korea) with a Boeing 777-200.

The airline suspended passenger flights to mainland China in February  due to the Covid-19 crisis.

In July, the carrier resumed flights to Shanghai.

JAL trials touch-free check-in kiosks

Japan Airlines is testing touch less check-in kiosks at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.

The airline will be trial ling the new technology at Terminal 1 at the South Wing  (Departure Level – Counter 18) until September 15.

The new kiosks are equipped with touch less sensors, which allow customers to complete the check-in process without actually touching the screen, according to JAL.

The airline says through the use of infrared technology, customers will be able to make selections by “holding their finger 3 cm away” from the screen.

Emirates resumes flights to Hong Kong

Emirates is resuming its Hong Kong flights starting from August 23. The flights between Dubai and Hong Kong will be offered daily on its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The UAE-based carrier says travelers from Hong Kong can connect to any destination on Emirates’ current network of 75 cities in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and enjoy convenient connections via Dubai.

Tourist hot spot Bali to stay closed to foreign visitors for rest of 2020 as coronavirus continues to spread

The Indonesian island of Bali will remain closed to foreign visitors for the rest of 2020 after the authorities postponed a plan to welcome back international tourists from Sept 11 as the corona virus continues to spread. "The Indonesian government couldn't reopen its doors to foreign travelers until the end of 2020 as we remain a red zone," Bali Governor I Wayan Koster said in a statement.
